Paradoxically though it may seem, it is none the less true that life imitates satire far more than the latter satirizes life. I am not sure if Marc Lesser is stealing my ideas, or if he has developed his entrepeneurial skills independently, but there is no way I can compete with, or satirize, him, and I have therefore decided to close this blog. 

Marc Lesser wore the black robes of a Buddhist priest as director of the Tassajara Zen Mountain Center near Big Sur in the 1980s … Today, as an M.B.A. and chief executive of Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, he is comfortable integrating money with mindfulness. ’All business is about helping people in some way and you can’t do that without focusing on success,’ he said. ’The hope is that turning a profit can be done more wisely and compassionately.’

    It is widely recognized that The NY Times is a Charnel Ground practice. It is where the truth often goes to die, a terrifying vision for even someone of your insight and capacity.

  2. I find all such exercises entirely unremarkable. Not only are most people intimately familiar with the multifaceted absurdities of life within the realm of cynical distance but most people got this joke years ago.

    The War on Terror(TM) is way funnier and as a tragic self parody of clearly imponderable proportions it’s gravitas easily reduces to insignificance any perceived merits that might be attributed to snickering during sunday school.
